| On June 3,
Miss Black Bushy Tail, the babies' aunt, was brought to the vet to have
her stitches removed.
SHFVN informed the vet of the babies' birth the previous day on arrival at the office and told him all appeared to be well with Mom & Babies. Fate is an interesting phenomenon. While SHFVN was waiting to bring Miss Black Bushy Tail in for stitch removal, someone brought in a yowling, one-day old kitten whose mommy had been killed by a car that morning. The vet asked SHFVN if she would be willing to see if Mama Kitty would adopt the little orphan. Was SHFVN going to say NO!! to one more cat and risk being struck by lightning while walking out the door?? SHFVN may be soft headed, but she is not stupid! So, the little orange orphan came home with Miss Black Bushy Tail auntie kitty. Mama Kitty sniffed the orphan, licked him (or her) a couple of times and grabbed him (or her) by the scruff of the neck and tossed him (or her) on the pile with the rest of the babies. He (or she) has been part of the gang ever since. |

| The babies remained in the
little hobbit hole until June 13th. I guess it was getting kind of
crowded in there because they are growing by leaps & bounds.
But their little eyes aren't open yet.
Mommy Kitty schlepped them up to the loft bed, one by one, and they are now Stratos Dwellers (as in the old Star Trek episode -- the beings who lived high up above everything else). |
