Once upon a time, there were 4 little kitties who lived in the back lot of a small apartment house in an inner city neighborhood.

They lived in the wilds of the South Side of Syracuse in a neighborhood where bullets are known to come from nowhere and life is not pretty.

These kitties were fed every day by a very kind elderly lady (Jean) who did not want to see them starve or suffer the fate of wild city cats -- becoming roadkill or worse.

No one wanted them.  Many phone calls were made and people were asked if they could/would help.  No city agency or humane agency would come and get them.  The kitties would not let anyone touch them and would not come near humans.

Jean was becoming more and more worried about the fate of her kitties because winter was approaching.  She prayed and prayed for a safe resolution to their dilemma.

Her soft hearted (and soft headed) former Visiting Nurse could not stand to see Jean worry and suffer over these wild furballs.  Much thought and effort went into devising a plan to capture the unfortunate felines.

The task was accomplished by luring them into a large wire dog kennel with food and slamming the door behind them ... it was a multi-person effort that took quite some time.
